I lost my mind. Here's what it looked like!
Insanity Because Osa Meji was created during a very difficult period of my life. For Breaking Silence, I'm sharing not only the painting, but the story and sound that live behind it.
I lost my mind.
Here's what it sounded like!
When words failed me, I turned to watercolor. The watercolor and abstraction captured emotions that language could not hold. I later translated those same emotions into sound with the help of AI, creating a companion piece that extends the experience of the painting and can be accessed through an NFC audio recording.
What was happening when I made this? In this video, I talk about the experience that led me to create Insanity Because Osa Meji—and why the piece became more than a painting.
How did I heal from my insanity? Sometimes what appears to be a broken mind is a wounded spirit asking to be heard. My healing came through spiritual work that helped restore what I felt had become disconnected within me.
