Before coming into the world, they sat around trying to figure out who had the most Ase. The Sun was destined to bring light into the world; the Moon was destined to inspire poets and romantics; Fire was destined to flash in the skies during storms, warm humanity during cold nights and cook people's food. During consultation, everyone was assured their power would be great. But that was all they heard. Water was told that she would be the most stable of the elements and that her Ase was to remain simple when surrounded by greatness. Only Water made her ebo and Esu could be heard yelling out as Water grew to extend herself all across the world, "your Ase is greater than that of Fire, the Sun and the Moon because only you complied!"

Be like water, simple and stable!
